Vulcain
One of the most impressive discoveries from prehistory
This gigantic Apatosaurus skeleton, discovered in 2018 in Wyoming, United States, is not only a scientific treasure but also a true masterpiece of nature. Measuring 21 metres in length, Vulcain is one of the largest and most complete dinosaur skeletons ever unearthed.

An exceptional discovery
The discovery of Vulcain marked a pivotal moment in paleontology. What makes this find even more remarkable is that over 80% of the skeleton consists of original bones – a rarity among these herbivorous dinosaurs. The missing parts have been carefully reconstructed, making Vulcain one of the most complete Apatosaurus skeletons ever displayed.
Vulcain impresses not only with its colossal size but also with a fascinating feature of its tail. Five of its vertebrae are fused together, suggesting that it sustained a severe injury during its life. This anomaly offers a unique insight into the challenges these giants faced, whether it was battling predators or rivalries within their own species.
